  1. Can USii Produce Bag perform well with all kinds of produce?

    Different fruit and vegetables has their own qualities. Therefore, the bag’s preserving performance may vary. Basically, except for certain fruit and vegetables (see Our Products), USii Produce Bag is applicable to most produce to extend their shelf life and retain their valuable nutrient.

  2. Why are some fruit and vegetables still firm and not yet edible after they are put into USii Produce Bag?

    USii Produce Bag has excellent preserving performance that can delay ripening in fruit and vegetables. Hence, produce that is only edible after ripening should be removed from USii Produce Bag and put under room temperature for a while before being served. Examples are green banana, unripe mango, firm custard apple, etc. Here is a tip- if these fruit and vegetables are to be served within 1 to 2 days, please remove them from the bag so they have time to ripen. Before that, let USii Produce Bag preserve the freshness of for you!

  3. USii Produce Bag meets the standards of both US FDA and Taiwan TFDA. What are the differences be tween these two inspections?

    According to 21CFR177.1520 (177.1520 - Code of Federal Regulations Title 21) under US FDA regulation, the dissolution of N-hexane and xylene in polyethylene (PE) food containers should be examined and the amount of both chemicals should not exceed the regulatory limits.
    TFDA (Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare) of Taiwan regulates sanitary standards food utensils, containers and packaging. The inspection covers heavy metals such as lead and cadmium as well as plasticizers including DEHP, DNOP, DBP, and BBP. All inspections for elements listed must meet the standards enforced by Taiwan’s government.

  4. Do I have to put fruit and vegetables in the fridge if I have bagged them in USii Produce Bag?

    Temperature affects changes on most fruit and vegetables. Except for those that are not cold-resistant such as banana, ripening mango, and custard apple, produce bagged in USii Produce Bag should still be stored in the fridge.   5. How do I wash USii Produce Bag before reusing it? Does it have to be air-dried?

    USii Produce Bag is designed to be eco-friendly and reusable. Please rinse the bag with clean water after use and replace used bags at least once a month. Bags should be fully air-dried inside out before use, since moisture can result in growth of microorganisms and bacteria.

  6. When should I adopt a new USii Produce Bag before it has not been used for a month?

    USii Produce Bag is reusable. If there is damage to the bag, dirt that does not come off after washing, or it has been used to preserve severely rotted produce, it is recommended to adopt a new one to ensure sanitary and its preserving performance.

  7. Can I use USii Produce Bag to preserve fish or meat?

    USii Produce Bag is the first kind of storage bag in Taiwan that is designed exclusively for preserving fruit and vegetables. It is tailor-made according to qualities of different produce. The preserving performance is not guaranteed if used on produce other than fruit and vegetables.

  8. Can I put USii Produce Bag in the freezer?

    USii Produce Bag has a temperature range from -40 to 139°F (-40~60°C) and can be put in the freezer without worries. However, fruit and vegetable cells remain active and alive after harvest. Once frozen, they lose nutrients and there is little left to be preserved by adopting USii Produce Bag.

  9. Can I use USii Produce Bag to store fresh cut produce?

    As fruit and vegetables are physically-damaged after cutting, the wound part is susceptible to microbial attack and rotting. Cutting also accelerates respiration and causes spoilage, affecting the preserving performance of USii Produce Bag. Therefore, fresh cut produce can be bagged in USii Produce Bag, but should be consumed soon after purchase.

  10. What fruit and vegetables are not applicable to USii Produce Bag?

    Fruit and vegetables that should be stored in dry and ventilated areas. For instance, garlic, ginger root, onions, pumpkins, yam, yam bean, pepper, etc. Fruit and vegetables with higher speed of metabolism are also not applicable to USii Produce Bag and should be consumed soon after purchase. Examples are custard apple, avocado, asparagus, and mushroom,

  11. Can I use USii Produce Bag to preserve produce along with its wrapping bag?

    USii Produce Bag’s preserving performance could fail due to double-bagging. In addition, over-packaged produce could spoil faster than average due to lack of ventilation. It is recommended that produce be removed from its wrapping bag and be put in only USii Produce Bag.

  12. Why are some bags wet when they contain fruit and vegetables?

    After harvest, fruit and vegetable cells remain active and alive. The respiration of produce keeps on going until all supplies have been depleted. The moisture is firmly locked by the USii Produce Bag, so vapor will form inside the bag. The respiration rate varies based on temperature, types and the amount of produce bagged.
